Tana was amused at how a person could be restless and exhausted all at once, but there it was. She wasn't sleeping well at nights lately, worried and anxious that Brandon wouldn't make it home on time, but she was so charged with nervous energy that she could barely sit still even as she was dozing off.

She made herself a small lunch, nothing sounded good in the Vegas heat the last few days, and she paused and checked the thermostat. The house was nice and cool, but one look outside at the stale 125 degree desert air let her know inside was the best option for the day.

She settled with her laptop on the couch, eating the sandwich slowly and enjoying the ice tea Adie had left her. She smiled to herself, amused as she opened up the link for The Killers show the other night at T in the Park and she felt a stab of longing as she watched Brands hop around like he was on crack. She loved it. More then that, she wanted to be there, the crowd was massive and she was so proud watching the small screen that she felt her throat tighten and tears come to her eyes. She rested her hand on her stomache gently and whispered "That's your daddy". The knowledge that he would be home in about 24 hours only made her miss him more suddenly and she pressed speed dial for Brands' cell, needing to hear his voice.
